Hardscape Project Overview
Our latest endeavor in Douglass involved creating a harmonious blend of hardscape and softscape elements. The client's vision included a new pathway, an outdoor shower, and a custom cedar fence. Here’s how we brought their vision to life.
Pathway Installation
The project began with the installation of a custom pathway. We chose materials that complement the natural surroundings and ensure durability. The pathway not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the garden but also provides a practical solution for navigating the space.
Outdoor Shower Setup
One of the unique requests from our client was an outdoor shower. Given the specific shower apparatus they wanted to use, we had to innovate to integrate it seamlessly into the design. The shower area was positioned below the deck's break to accommodate the equipment, ensuring functionality without compromising the design.
Planting and Mulching
We carefully planned the planting process, starting with trees to ensure they were in place before the hardscape installation. This approach prevents the need to dig up and potentially damage native plants later. Along the pathway, we planted vinca, a resilient ground cover that will thrive with minimal maintenance. We’ll continue mulching throughout the year to maintain soil health and appearance.
Custom Cedar Fence
Next, we installed a custom cedar fence that the client was particularly excited about. Cedar is an excellent choice for outdoor projects due to its natural resistance to decay and beautiful finish. This fence not only adds privacy but also serves as a striking feature of the landscape.
